Plot Synopsis

Filmed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, YOUNGER follows Liza, a 40-year old woman who pretends to be 26 in order to get a job in the highly competitive world of publishing -- and succeeds. Now working under the prickly Diana, Liza has to figure out how to balance her real life with bestie Maggie and her "pretend" life with new friend and coworker Kelsey -- all while embarking on an exciting and somewhat confusing relationship with sexy tattoo artist Josh. Darren Star, the creator of YOUNGER, tapped his friend and renowned stylist Patricia Field, who was behind the trend-setting looks on SEX AND THE CITY, to be lead costume designer on YOUNGER. Guest stars in Season 1 include: Jane Krakowski as a hard-partying author and former bestie of Liza's boss; Ana Gasteyer as a promising author Liza hopes to publish; Martha Plimpton as someone from Liza's past who resurfaces in her present; and Peter Hermann as Empire Publishing's big boss. TV Land broadcast the series premiere of this series on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 10-11pm ET/PT, showing back-to-back new episodes, which were also simulcast on sister networks Nick at Nite and NickMom.

YOUNGER returned for its second season on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 10-11pm ET/PT on TV Land, with back-to-back new episodes. After Liza let her secret slip to sexy young tattoo artist Josh at the end of the first season, she now must try to salvage their relationship, all while navigating a confusing chemistry with her boss Charles and dealing with her daughter Caitlin's return from studying abroad. Season 2 guest stars include: Matthew Morrison, as a reclusive author who lives on a farm; Camryn Manheim, as a psychologist pitching a life guidebook to people in their 20s; Kathy Najimy and Josh Pais, returning as Denise and Todd, Lauren's parents; Martha Plimpton, back as Cheryl Sussman, the former colleague who blackmailed Liza in Season 1; Bobby Flay; Michael Urie; best-selling author Jennifer Weiner; David Wain; Ice-T; Richard Masur; Diane Rehm; Dolly Wells; and more.

Season 3 of YOUNGER premiered on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on TV Land. At the end of Season 2, Liza's secret took a tragic turn when Kelsey's fiance Thad was killed in an accident right after he discovered her lie. Now, in the Season 3 opener, "A Kiss Is Just a Kiss," Liza sends Caitlin off to college, and she tries to choose between on-again/off-again boyfriend Josh and her boss Charles, with whom she has an undeniable connection.

The 12-episode fourth season of YOUNGER premiered on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10pm ET/7pm PT on TV Land, with a one-time coast-to-coast simulcast. In the new season, Liza's love life is in disarray as she reels from her breakup with boyfriend Josh, who was going to propose... until he discovered her kissing her boss, Charles. In the season three finale, Liza came to realize the damage her secret has caused and finally unveiled the truth to Kelsey. Now Liza will be forced to deal with the fallout of her deceit and learn that the truth hurts. In the season opener, "Post Truth," Liza deals with the aftermath of coming clean with Kelsey, and Charles tests their synchronicity. Kelsey and Josh become unlikely allies. Immediately after the season opener, the new live weekly aftershow, GETTING YOUNGER, debuts on Facebook @YoungerTV (and simulcasting on Instagram @YoungerTV with behind-the-scenes content) with Taylor Strecker hosting. Strecker continues the fan conversation that occurs on social media every week and encourage viewers to submit questions and interact with other superfans and stars alike. Shot in front of a live audience at Pride Global's Flight Deck in Manhattan, the shows will consist of guest interviews and discussion about the preceding episode, as well as "man on the street" segments.
