Plot Synopsis

SPEED IS THE NEW BLACK is a one-hour reality series that follows Noah Alexander and his team at the elite automotive shop Classic Car Studio in St. Louis, Missouri, featuring he intricate builds coming out of Noah's shop with the end goal of creating a fast and furious ride. This season, Noah and his team are redesigning classic cars from a 1962 Corvette to a 1990 Porsche 911 and everything in between creating custom pieces of art designed for the open road. The season opener, "A Mustang's Twists and Turns," features a 1965 Ford Mustang for a client who collects custom cars solely for his showroom. He brings Noah his '65 Mustang with hopes of finally taking one of his rides on the road. The crew fully customizes his ride for the road with a Ford 302 supercharger, a EFI fuel injection system and racing seats and a roll cage. Yet, every step of their customizing process raises a challenge when dealing with a needy customer. It is up to Noah and his gang to stand up to the client when they think there might be a better alternative to truly enhance the performance of the car. Season 2 of SPEED IS THE NEW BLACK premiered on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on Velocity, as Noah Alexander and his team of master craftsmen at Classic Car Studio in St. Louis wow America with all new, refined, sophisticated cool vehicles that are fit perfectly for drivers who want to enjoy the open road. The second season features all styles of custom restorations starting with the first episode when Dale Stewart, bassist of the internationally loved rock band Seether, brings Classic Car Studio the shell of a 1931 Model A Ford. Stewart wants to turn the Model A into a mean looking, open wheel hot rod with a big engine that he can cruise around in when he's not entertaining millions while on tour. Other highlights from this season include: a 1957 Chevy Nomad Wagon fit for the road like an Aston Martin; a 1965 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible with a modernized cruiser and five-speed transmission; a 2005 Chevy SSR that rides like new with a Nelson Twin Turbo set-up, a GM Performance LSX short block and an air ride suspension; as well as a 1970 Ford F100, a 1953 Chevy Truck, a 1970 BMC Mini Cooper, a 1971 Chevy Chevelle, and a 1986 Chevy C10 Truck.
