Plot Synopsis

SKIN TIGHT is a one-hour reality series that takes an intimate look at people who have lost extreme amounts of weight and are going through extensive surgeries to remove up to 50-lbs of excess skin. Some individuals have six-packs, but it remains hidden under mounds of skin, leaving many feeling even more uncomfortable than when they were obese. With cutting edge technology and reconstructive surgical options, experienced surgeons cut away massive amounts of skin, creating a full-body transformation. SKIN TIGHT introduces a variety of candidates including, Brian Flemming who astonishingly lost 400-lbs., but is now left drowning in pounds of extra skin. He's become very active, but his current body is preventing him from achieving his goals of running an Iron Man marathon and becoming a personal trainer. Ariel McWhorter lost 260-lbs., but she now has trouble singing and having an intimate relationship. And, Tim Bauer who lost 228-lbs now motivates others by giving talks about his inspirational weight loss story. But he struggles with personal relationships with his daughters and the ability to be intimate with his girlfriend. Season 2 of SKIN TIGHT premiered on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on TLC. In the 10-episode second season, the participants risk everything and entrust Dr. Younan Nowzaradan and other top doctors from across the country for the final step in their journey as they endure skin removal surgery in anticipation of their dramatic reveal at the end of every episode. Season 2 features 20 people who have lost a total of 4,962 pounds. Additionally, there are three one-hour special episodes that check in with some of the people from the series to see how their weight has held up since getting the surgery and how their life and perception of themselves has changed. The season opener follows Andrew, 31, who went from 502-lbs to nearly 200-lbs. After the birth of his daughter and the end of a damaging romantic relationship, he found himself at a crossroads and decided he needed to make a change. With a commitment to diet and exercise, he was able to lose a lot of weight, but found that all the weight training he did wasn't helping eliminate the tremendous amount of excess skin. Andrew dreams of competing in a natural bodybuilding competition, but more than anything he wants to look and feel normal around his family. The episode also follows Julie, 39, who went from 331-lbs to 153-lbs. Julie was overweight her whole life, but found herself morbidly obese after having four kids. She underwent gastric bypass surgery which jumpstarted her weight loss, but she is now hiding under pounds of excess skin, causing her to shy away from intimacy with her husband and not allowing her to fully bond with her children. She dreams of being a better mom and wife, but feels like it will never happen unless the skin is surgically removed.

The 13-episode third season of this series -- now titled MY 600-LB LIFE: SKIN TIGHT -- premiered on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT on TLC. In the new season, Dr. Nowzaradan returns with other top plastic surgeons across the country to work with subjects looking to undergo a full-body transformation through skin removal surgery. Each episode follows two or three individuals who have conquered their major weight loss goals but have been left hanging with loose skin all over their bodies. Viewers are once again invited to join the transformative journey, with each episode culminating in powerful reveals and physical changes. Additionally, towards the end of the season, two one-hour "Where Are They Now" episodes feature individuals from previous seasons and their progress since first appearing on the show.

Kicking off the season premiere, viewers follow Stephanie, whose weight and depression skyrocketed after giving birth. Seeing her son fight through a heart defect, stroke and a life-saving surgery, she vowed to get herself healthy for her baby boy. Stephanie underwent weight loss surgery and dropped almost 200-lbs, determined to change her life for good. But before long, the weight and embarrassment of her excess skin kept her from working out, playing with her child and finding a lasting relationship. Beyond the need for her own surgery, Stephanie's mother Darcy also struggles with excess skin after going from 300-lbs to 160-lbs. Both now hope to have skin removal surgery to get their lives back. The premiere episode also features B.J., who lived a life of drug-abuse and overeating. When things started getting out of control, B.J. turned to his faith and turned to a new chapter in his life by starting a family. However, after finding himself at 500-lbs, he thought he would never be able to give his children the life and the father that they deserved. He decided to make a change and set out to lose weight. Now at 150-lbs, he still can't completely be the father and husband he wants to be with the physical restrictions of his excess skin.
