Plot Synopsis

Now in its 22nd year, "Shark Week" is cable's longest-running event and features six new documentaries for 2009: "Blood in the Water" (Sunday @ 9PM); "Deadly Waters" (Monday @ 9PM); "Day of the Shark 2" (Monday @ 10PM); "Sharkbite Summer" (Tuesday @ 9PM); "Great White Appetite" (Wednesday @ 9PM); and "Shark After Dark" (Thursday @ 9PM). Also, Discovery presents the Mako Shark episode of "Man vs. Fish with Matt Watson" on Wednesday at 10PM. (Last year "Mythbusters" and "Dirty Jobs" aired shark-themed specials.) The week will be rounded out by some of the most popular and memorable programs from past years. Once again, Discovery educates the public about the plight of sharks around the world through public service announcements (PSAs) produced in conjunction with "Shark Week" marine conservation partner Ocean Conservancy.
