Plot Synopsis

This series of documentaries highlights the traditions, rivalries and unique stories of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The first installment told the story of Herschel Walker, exploring how his career in the SEC was legendary, but his journey off the field was filled with struggle, pain, and ultimately, redemption. That film included interviews with Walker's family, former Georgia coaches Vince Dooley and Mike Cavan, and teammates Frank Ros and Joe Happe, as well as his high school coach, his psychotherapist, former Dallas Morning News writer Skip Bayless and former USFL New Jersey Generals owner Donald Trump. The third season of SEC STORIED premiered on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 8pm ET/5pm PT with "The Book of Manning," which explored the personal and professional life of former NFL and Ole Miss quarterback Archie Manning and how the sudden loss of his father impacted his life and the way he and his wife raised their three sons. Narrated by actor John Goodman, "The Book of Manning" featured revealing interviews with Archie, Olivia, Cooper, Peyton and Eli Manning along with other family members, friends, former teammates and coaches.
When SEC STORIED returned for its fourth season on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 9pm ET/6pm PT, the season opener debuted on a new network, the SEC Network, on the cable channel's first night of programming. The Season 4 opener, "The Stars Are Aligned," chronicles 14 famous people -- such as Ashley Judd, Darius Rucker, James Carville and Governor Rick Perry -- who live and die with the fortunes of their respective SEC schools. In this documentary, each SEC team is represented by one celeb, including Judd, Rucker, Carville, Perry, Charlie Daniels, Amy Robach, Jonathan Papelbon, Melissa Joan Hart, Emmitt Smith, Shepard Smith, Ralphie May, and more.
