Plot Synopsis

Inspired by the true story of eccentric genius Walter O'Brien, SCORPION is a one-hour drama series that centers on him and his international network of geniuses who form the last line of defense against the complex threats of the modern age. Pooling their extensive technological knowledge to solve mind-boggling predicaments, this collection of geeks continually amazes federal agent Cabe Gallo, who shares a harrowing history with O'Brien. As Homeland Security's new think tank, O'Brien's "Scorpion" team includes: Toby Curtis, an expert behaviorist who can read anyone; Happy Quinn, a mechanical prodigy; and Sylvester Dodd, a statistics guru. However, while this socially awkward group is comfortable with each other's humor and quirks, life outside their circle confounds them, so they rely on Paige Dineen, who has a gifted son (Ralph) with Drew Winters, to translate the world for them. SCORPION returned for its second season on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT on CBS. In the season opener, "Satellite of Love," the new Director of Homeland Security (recurring star Alana De La Garza) reunites the team when a nuclear powered Russian satellite is knocked out of orbit and must be diverted before it detonates over Southern California. Also, Paige and Walter must face their feelings for each other after hospital footage reveals Paige kissed him. KISS frontman Gene Simmons makes a cameo appearance as himself in this episode. Additional recurring stars in Season 2 include: Kevin Weisman, who portrays Walter's new friend, Ray, whom he meets doing court-mandated community service; and Peri Gilpin, who will play Deputy Director of Homeland Security Katherine Cooper. Season 3 of SCORPION premiered on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 9-11pm ET/PT on CBS, with a two-hour season opener. In the first hour (9pm), "Civil War," Team Scorpion must put aside their personal and romantic predicaments when anonymous hackers with unknown motives take control of U.S. military aircraft and warships and point weapons at American cities. Then, in the second hour (10pm), "More Civil War," just as Team Scorpion makes headway against the hackers controlling U.S. naval destroyers, they learn that a U.S. nuclear submarine also has been hacked and has a missile about to launch. On Tuesday, September 25, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT, CBS premiered the fourth season of SCORPION, as Josh Leonard returns as Mark Collins and Team Scorpion Sings that "Everything Is Absolutely Genius." In the season opener, "Extinction," Team Scorpion must work with their old nemesis Mark Collins in order to prevent the extinction of mankind. Also, Walter and Paige awkwardly navigate their new relationship.
