Plot Synopsis

Sellers try to work out fair deals with any of the show's four buyers for their antiques or collectibles, but they can walk away from the table at any time and head straight to the auction block, where big money could be awaiting -- or the sellers can even walk away with nothing. The four dealers/buyers are: Troy Howerton, a picker from San Diego, CA, who works out of his house, garage and storage shed, specializing in vintage cars, old toys, military collectibles, radios, clocks and whatever he thinks will bring in some decent cash; Jason McCoon, an antique dealer and owner of Tory Hill Auction Company in Raleigh, NC, who makes his deals by chipping away at customers, showing them the flaws in their items and steadily driving down the price of sports, music and celebrity collectibles; Glen Parshall, a pawnbroker, historian, wheeler-dealer and manager of Bargain Pawn in Las Vegas, NV, who specializes in coins, currency and historical items, including offbeat, strange and eclectic items most people would overlook; Chip Plemmons, a pawnbroker from Canton, NC and manager of Carolina Pawn and Gun, who makes small amounts of money off large numbers of people -- not huge windfall from individual deals -- as he specializes in weaponry, gold and antiques. World Champion Auctioneer Bryan Knox, from Birmingham, AL, is on the auction block. As the sellers decide whether they want the cold-hard cash on the table or the crapshoot of taking their items to auction, they negotiate over: a replica pirate cannon that's been in everything from Mutiny On the Bounty along with all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies; an 1892 Springfield Rifle, that's still in good working order; a boxing glove signed by some of the greatest fighters of the last hundred years; a gold pocket watch that dates back to the 1800s; a 1960s Mark II in mint condition -- the same ride Elvis and Frank Sinatra used to wheel around in; a U.S. Army projector from the 1960s; a home electrotherapy machine that dates back to 1904; some footballs autographed by some of the NFL's brightest stars; a vintage bike that dates back to World War II; a golden Spiderman chain; an antique slot machine; a pre-historic woolly mammoth tooth; an autograph by Harry Houdini; a WWII German Storm Trooper dagger; a 19th century spittoon; and many more items that reveal something about an earlier time and the way people lived in the past.
