Plot Synopsis

Even though most most judges think he's an outrage, drunken barrister Cleaver Greene can win any case -- no matter what happens in his personal life. His ex-wife, Wendy, calls him unreliable. His teenage son, who is dating his English teacher, calls him a friend. When he drunkenly slept with his best friend's wife, he lost a mate. He also lost the only other stable relationship in his life when prostitute Melissa made enough money to quit the oldest career in the world to go to law school. Now, Melissa is engaged to David, a tax collector who has been chasing Greene for back taxes for years. On the plus side, he wins cases for the most difficult clients: a cannibal; a woman accused of jury tampering during her daughter's murder case; a bigamist; a man who kills for the sake of art; a dog raper; and a talk show host accused of starting a race riot. In Season 2, Cleaver Greene is caught in an affair with Claudia Marshall, the Premier of New South Wales, making himself a sworn enemy of her husband, Attorney General and Police Minister, Cal McGregor. David Potter, now Shadow Attorney General, sees this as his chance to bury Cleaver Greene once and for all. On Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 11pm ET, DIRECTV's Audience Network aired the U.S. premiere of RAKE.
