Plot Synopsis

RAISED HUMAN is a three-episode series that tells the stories of three animals that formed a surprising attachment with humans. These astonishing relationships that cross the species divide allow privileged insight into the life of creatures. Each 60-minute episode features a different story, including: Hester and Jerry Mundis, who were living in a Manhattan apartment in 1967 with their son, when they came across a baby chimpanzee in a run-down exotic animal shop that they called Boris; Ralph Helfer was given a three-month-old male lion cub, Zamba, in 1952 that he raised in his California home, where the young animal grew into a 500-pound gentile giant, becoming Ralph's best friend and soul mate as well as a movie star.
