Plot Synopsis

With the help of an accomplice, Chris Jacobs and the other co-host trick automobile owners into giving up their rides, while auto designing legend Chip Foose and his crack team of fabricators and engineers trick out the vehicle. The show's co-hosts double as repo men, tow truck drivers and other pranksters to lure the keys away from the unsuspecting car owner by faking an impound, photo shoot, or any other excuse that will help them nab the vehicle. Then, the cameras follow the twists and turns of the parallel process of both keeping the car away from its sometimes surly owner -- and the creative ways the team manages to do it -- while following the renovation process of the vehicle. For its first five seasons OVERHAULIN' aired on TLC. After having no new episodes produced since 2008, the series returned with a different production company and switched networks to Velocity, which premiered Season 6 on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, one day after Discovery aired the same episode as a sneak peek and celebration of the show's return. To prepare for Season 6, Chip reviewed thousands of submissions sent in nationwide from deserving individuals in need of an overhaulin'. On Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT, OVERHAULIN' returned for Season 7, its second season on Velocity, with a new co-host, UFC Octagon Girl Arianny Celeste. In the season opener, Chip Foose and his team stepped in to help a Sunday school teacher who received a 1965 Skylark convertible for her sixteenth birthday from her father and vowed to save the car for her son. OVERHAULIN' returned for its eighth season -- its third season on Velocity -- on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on Velocity. In the Season 8 premiere, Chip and the A-Team transform a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 for Efrain Nieto, while working with his three sons to transform the 442 into their father's dream muscle car. In subsequent episodes of Season 8, Chip transformed these automobiles: a 2014 Chevy Impala for U.S. Navy explosives technician Ricky Thibeault, instead of fixing up his dilapidated Monte Carlo, which is too far-gone to repair; 1967 Ford Fairlane GTA for Lanny Mann, who wants to make it big as a guitarist; 1961 Chevrolet Impala 409 Bubble Top for Roger Buchanan, who, after closing his business, is working harder than ever to support his disabled wife and special needs daughter; and 1963 Chevrolet Nova for Air Force veteran Josh Ingram, who wants to work on and share the car with his grandpa but doesn't have the cash. OVERHAULIN' returned for its ninth and final season on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 9-11pm ET/PT, as Velocity premiered back-to-back new episodes immediately following a five-hour marathon (4-9pm) of encore episodes. In the season opener, "Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's '68 Mustang," Hollywood actress Amber Heard has owned her red 1968 Ford Mustang for more than a decade. It's a cherished car with a huge amount of sentimental value, but throughout the years it has been stolen twice and fallen into a state of disrepair. Now, thanks to her husband Johnny Depp, her dad, metal magician Chip Foose and the OVERHAULIN' A Team this Pony Car will ride off into the sunset.

On Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT, Velocity premiered the series finale of OVERHAULIN', immediately following an all-day marathon (6am-9pm) of encore episodes. In the season ender, "Foose and The Bandit," Tom has loved the Pontiac Trans Am ever since seeing SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT as a child. In high school he purchased his very own bandit, but over the last decade it has gone down in flames. Trouble and tragedy seem to plague Tom's Trans Am. That is until Chip Foose and the A Team make off with the terrible Trans Am. After some long hours and sleepless nights this pathetic Pontiac will become a truly bad ass Bandit and the only thing that will be Smokey are the tires.
