Plot Synopsis

Nancy Drew is a brilliant teenage detective whose sense of self had come from solving mysteries in her hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine -- until her mother's untimely death derails Nancy's college plans. Devastated by her mother's passing, Nancy swears off crime-solving while crossing off the days until she can re-apply to college. But when a socialite is murdered, Nancy finds herself a prime suspect in the crime, along with a group of other teens present at the scene: Nancy's nemesis from high school, George Fan; a rich girl with a mysterious past, Bess Marvin; Nancy's secret boyfriend, Ned "Nick" Nickerson; and amiable burnout Ace. The five of them must team up to clear their own names -- encountering emotional entanglements and even more mysteries along the way. Nancy's reawakening brings her into conflict with her widowed father, Carson Drew, who is dating Detective Karen Hart (Alvina August). And, when a supernatural presence begins to haunt Nancy's investigation, she discovers that the current crime has an astonishing connection to the long unsolved murder of a local girl. Whether the ghost is here to help, or hinder Nancy remains to be seen, but one thing's for sure: Nancy's going to have to unravel the clues from both the living and the dead to solve the crimes.

The sophomore season of NANCY DREW premiered on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. In the season opener, "The Search for the Midnight Wraith," Nancy and the Drew Crew are still reeling from witnessing the visions of their deaths. They realize even more so now that they need to come up with a plan to stop the Aglaeca before it's too late. Meanwhile, Detective Tamura (guest star Ryan-James Hatanaka) shows up at The Claw to bring Nancy in for questioning as she is now a suspect in a mysterious comatose girl's assault.

NANCY DREW returned for its third season on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. The new season begins one week after the Season 2 finale when Nancy's mystical relative Temperance Hudson returned to Horseshoe Bay with a dark agenda. Nancy's hopes of leaving her hometown for college will be derailed by this mysterious nemesis, and her fate will become entwined with that of her greatest foe yet. While contending with the escalating supernatural threat from her season-long adversary, our legendary teen detective investigates a series of grisly murders that seem to be sending a message to Nancy herself. Is she being stalked by a human serial killer? Or does the murderer originate from beyond the earthly realm? And how are the killings connected to the Hudson bloodline that Temperance and Nancy both share? On the trail of the ongoing case, the Drew Crew will team up with Nancy while also grappling with their own challenges: Ned "Nick" Nickerson, a former mechanic turned local businessman, must navigate his burgeoning romance with George Fan, whose paranormally shortened lifespan means she only has ten years left to live. Bess Marvin, having tragically parted with her ghostly soulmate, becomes drawn into the long-lost practices of her occultist ancestors. Ace, on a path to figure out his calling in life, realizes that he may have feelings for Nancy -- and that he may not be the only person competing for her affection. At the same time, Nancy's biological father, former billionaire Ryan Hudson, and her adoptive father, attorney Carson Drew, begin to find a way forward with Nancy as a family, now that she has publicly acknowledged her parentage and vowed to rectify the criminal legacy of the Hudsons. Putting aside their previous conflicts, the two dads work to support Nancy's headstrong independence and keep her out of harm's way as best they can. Carson will spark a romance that evolves him both personally and professionally, and Ryan will find himself tempted by his previous life as the morally compromised scion to an empire. After a four-week break, NANCY DREW returned with new episodes on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. In the winter premiere, "The Confession of the Long Night," a truth-inducing ritual takes hold of a town-wide cocktail party, yielding volcanic emotional confessions and a surprising romantic connection for Nancy. Meanwhile, one of Ryan's business contacts comes to town with an offer that may be connected to a recent wrongful death.
