Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Kyle Hill, MYTHBUSTERS: THE SEARCH is an elimination reality series that features the next generation of fearless contenders with killer build skills, science smarts and nerves of steel, ready to be judged each week as they bust myths and vie for the win in becoming the next myth-busting superstars. The series opens as ten elite builders face off to become the next MythBusters and test two tall tales: the sideways ejector seat from The Fast & the Furious and Deflategate, one of the most infamous football scandals of all-time. After one contestant has been eliminated, nine hopefuls remain to test a classic myth that Adam and Jamie never mastered: Can you paint with explosives? They'll also test if alcohol makes people more creative.

On Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT, Science Channel premieres the season finale of MYTHBUSTERS: THE SEARCH, immediately following a seven-hour marathon (2-9pm) of encore episodes. In the season ender, "Exploding Grand Finale," the remaining contestants -- Tamara Robertson, Jonathan Lung, Brian Louden, and Martin Pepper -- tackle the two most difficult myths yet: a water heater rocket and a walking-on-water challenge. Plus, this explosive live grand finale reveals the winners of the search for the next MythBusters.
