Plot Synopsis

In MY LOTTERY DREAM HOME, David Bromstad takes overnight millionaires on the ultimate search for their new home. After seeing three properties, the new buyers choose one of the properties to call home. From seven-figure real estate listings to 10-acre properties and nine-bedroom mansions, these big winners are looking to upgrade to high-dollar properties. Each half-hour episode features a different lottery winner, including the series premiere, during which David takes Ohio lottery winners Joe and Lauren on a search for the perfect family dream home. Currently renting, the couple says they fantasize about finding a spacious new home where they can expand their family. David shows them three gorgeous properties, including a newly built home that Joe and Lauren can customize; a sprawling three-acre mansion with six-car garage; and a luxurious move-in ready home with an elaborate upstairs movie theater. HGTV premiered back-to-back pilot episodes of MY LOTTERY DREAM HOME on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1pm ET/PT, focusing on a Joe & Rhonda, who won $11.7 million in the Minnesota Lottery and are looking for a new dream home near beautiful Stillwater, and Rick & Lorie, who won the Lottery's Mega Millions jackpot of $180 million dollars and are looking for their dream home in Riverside County. On Friday, January 1, 2016 from 10-11am ET/PT, HGTV premiered two more sneak-peek episodes of MY LOTTERY DREAM HOME. In the first episode (10am), David takes New Jersey's newest Lottery winners on a tour to find an amazing new Dream Home, and they have a total of $7 million to spend. Then, in the second episode (10:30am), David takes Californian jackpot winners, who were forced to move in with their mother following a family illness and unemployment, on a search for their dream home by the waterfront, with room for a boat and a pool. MY LOTTERY DREAM HOME has its official series premiere one week later on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11pm. Season 2 of MY LOTTERY DREAM HOME premiered on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT on HGTV. In the 10-episode second season, David Bromstad takes lucky lottery winners on the ultimate search for their new home -- from seven-figure real estate listings to 10-acre properties and nine-bedroom mansions. In the season opener, "Dreaming on Chesapeake Bay," a retired couple that loves to spend holidays with family wins $1 million in the North Carolina Powerball and can finally buy the vacation home of their dreams. David Bromstad gets the chance to show them some gorgeous properties along the Virginia coast, all of which would be great for their family, but will they prioritize size over having a great view?
