Plot Synopsis

This half-hour animated holiday special begins when Santa Claus and his sleigh unexpectedly crash-land on the island of Madagascar, giving Santa amnesia. So it falls to Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria -- along with the ever-inventive Penguins -- to deliver the presents and save Christmas. Plus, it doesn't hurt that Santa's Sleigh just might be able to make a little trip to New York City, so they can finally return to their beloved home. But during their rounds, the four re-discover the magic of giving -- and that it is ultimately more important than their own wish to return home. Chronologically, MERRY MADAGASCAR occurs some time between the first and second MADAGASCAR movies. MERRY MADAGASCAR was aired by NBC twice during each of the 2009 and 2010 holiday seasons, followed by a two-year break from network television, before returning to broadcast TV on The CW on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 8:30pm ET/PT.
