Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Nick Cannon, with panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke, THE MASKED SINGER is a top-secret celebrity singing competition that will have everyone asking, "who's behind the mask?!" Based on an international format, and already a viral phenomenon with over half a billion fans worldwide, the series features celebrities facing off against one another with one major twist: each singer is shrouded from head to toe in an elaborate costume, complete with full face mask to conceal his or her identity. With each performance, the host, panelists, audience, viewers and even the other contestants are left guessing who is singing behind the mask. Although the celebrities' identities are a mystery, between them they have a combined 65 Grammy Award nominations, 16 Emmy Award nominations, four stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and four Super Bowl titles. The singers may attempt to throw the crowd off of their scent, while keen observers might pick up on tiny clues buried throughout the show. One singer is eliminated by the audience and judges each week, based on their performance, and then reveals his or her true identity. The ultimate guessing game kicks off in the series premiere with the first six undercover celebrity singers -- Peacock, Hippo, Monster, Unicorn, Deer, and Lion -- facing off against one another in elaborate head-to-toe costumes. The second episode features the remaining six competitors: Pineapple, Poodle, Raven, Alien, Rabbit, and Bee.

The sophomore season of THE MASKED SINGER premiered Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 8-10pm ET/PT on FOX. The first eight undercover celebrity singers face off against one another in dazzling head-to-toe costumes. Host Nick Cannon and panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke return as they attempt to guess the identities behind a new batch of Hollywood stars in all-new costumes with tougher clues! The battles result in two celebrities taking off their masks. Four more singers are introduced each of the following two weeks.

For the first time ever, they won't have to wait to find out what celebrity they were competing against. Next, the Top Two singers face off in a Battle Royale performance of the same song. The winner is crowned the King or Queen of THE MASKED SINGER and move on to the next week's episode against new competition, and the other unmasks. The three finalists left standing after each round compete in the Semi-Finals. This season introduces all-new themed episodes, including "Vegas Night," "Comedy Roast," "Hall Of Fame," "Muppets Night," "Andrew Lloyd Webber Night," "TV Themes," "'90s Night," "Thanksgiving" and "Fright Night."
