Plot Synopsis

Based on characters from "The Sandman" comic book series, LUCIFER centers on Lucifer Morningstar, who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, so he resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. Lucifer works with Chloe Decker, an LAPD homicide detective who finds herself both repulsed and fascinated by Lucifer. As they work together to solve a murder, Lucifer is struck by Chloe's inherent goodness and begins to wonder if there is hope for the human race. Plus, he becomes intrigued with the idea of punishing criminals, sending the devil himself into a struggle between good and evil. While working with Chloe, Lucifer encounters: Linda, a therapist who he later seeks for professional advice; and Dan, a gruff LAPD homicide detective, who is wary of Lucifer's involvement with his wife and daughter. While on Earth, Lucifer connects with his best friend Maze, a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman, but he's also pursued by Amenadiel, an angel sent to The City of Angels to persuade Lucifer to return to Hell. Season 2 of LUCIFER premiered on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on FOX. At the end of Season 1, Chloe watched Lucifer die, only to come back to life, causing more confusion over who he really is. Meanwhile, her estranged husband, DAn, who is also an LAPD detective, came clean about his involvement in a corrupt case -- jeopardizing not only his job, but also their relationship. In Season 2, Lucifer and his brother, Amenadiel, who have been sparring over Lucifer's resistance to returning to the underworld, will now be brought back together for one common goal -- to find their mother, Charlotte, who escaped Hell. After all, Lucifer doesn't take after his dad, so the parent he does resemble is sure to be quite terrifying. Lucifer's work with the LAPD also is upended when the police force hires Ella Lopez, a smart, tough forensic scientist whose mutual belief in both faith and science proves a point of interest to Lucifer. With mom on the loose, Dr. Linda Martin, who has become not only a therapist, but also a confidante to Lucifer, will surely have a lot of advice to dole out. And, by the time she's done with them, she may need a therapist of her own. Season 3 of LUCIFER premiered on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 8pm ET/PT on FOX. Entering its third season, the story of the original fallen angel continues, with the charming, charismatic and devilishly handsome Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar, helping LAPD detective Chloe Decker take down criminals. As Season 2 came to a close, Lucifer took care of a little problem called Mom, aka Charlotte. But now he's facing an even greater challenge -- finding out who kidnapped him, and why his angel wings are back. What's worse is the arrival of new lieutenant Marcus Pierce, who's everything Lucifer is not -- strategic, reserved and well-respected. Unfortunately for Lucifer, he's also handsome, charismatic and smart. And he's caught Chloe's eye. In the season opener, "They're Back, Aren't They?," Lucifer enlists Chloe's help to determine why he woke up in the desert with his wings on his back again, which could be related to an active crime scene; a new lieutenant's stern demeanor makes for some uncomfortable introductions.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

On Tuesday, August 28, 2018 Warner Bros. Home Entertainment released LUCIFER Season 3 on DVD, Blu-ray + Digital with all 26 hell-raising episodes from the third season plus some devilishly good features including the 2017 Comic-Con Panel and a new featurette. Entering its third season, the story of the original fallen angel continues. As Season 2 came to a close, Lucifer (Tom Ellis) took care of a little problem called Mom, aka Charlotte (Tricia Helfer). But now he's facing an even greater challenge: finding out who kidnapped him, and why his angel wings are back. In addition, Tom Welling joins the cast as Marcus Pierce, an accomplished police lieutenant who is everything Lucifer is not: strategic, reserved and well-respected. But perhaps even more annoying are all the things they have in common. Both men are charming, charismatic and handsome as hell. So, when Pierce starts developing a connection with Chloe (Lauren German), Lucifer's devilish traits are inflamed. Enjoy hours of frighteningly fun entertainment and frivolous adventures. Buy and binge now! (Click the red "Buy DVDs" button on this page.)
