Plot Synopsis

David Letterman, the longest-running host in late night history at 33 years, began his final 28 broadcasts of the LATE SHOW on April 13, 2015, ending with his last show on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 11:35pm-12:37am ET/PT. Some of the biggest names in entertainment will make their final appearances with Letterman over the final six weeks, including George Clooney, Robert Downey, Jr., Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Tom Hanks, Jack Hanna, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Keaton, Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Sarah Jessica Parker, Don Rickles, Julia Roberts, Ray Romano, Paul Rudd, Jerry Seinfeld, Martin Short, Howard Stern, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Oprah Winfrey, The Avett Brothers and Brandi Carlile, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews Band, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Mumford and Sons, Ralph Stanley and Amos Lee, and many more names to be announced.

The final broadcasts of THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN will feature appearances by Tom Hanks, Bill Murray, Eddie Vedder, Bob Dylan, and Letterman's historic final LATE SHOW broadcast on May 20. After 33 years in late night television, 6,028 broadcasts, nearly 20,000 total guest appearances, 16 Emmy Awards and more than 4,600 career Top Ten Lists, David Letterman says goodbye to late night television audiences with the final three broadcasts from Monday, May 18 - Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 11:35pm-12:37am.

Monday, May 18: The three-night event kicks off with a visit from Academy Award winner Tom Hanks, who first appeared with Letterman on LATE NIGHT April 4, 1984 and will make his 60th total appearance with the host. Also that night, rock superstar Eddie Vedder will make a special music performance backed by Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra.

Tuesday, May 19: Bill Murray, Letterman's first guest on LATE NIGHT's debut on Feb. 1, 1982, and his first guest on the LATE SHOW's August 30, 1993 premiere, makes his 44th overall and final appearance with the host. Plus, legendary musician Bob Dylan will perform.


Wednesday, May 20: Letterman's final LATE SHOW broadcast, which will be an hour filled with surprises, memorable highlights, the show's final Top Ten List and more.
