Plot Synopsis

Using archival footage and personal testimonials, JOHNNY HALLYDAY: BEYOND ROCK is a five-episode documentary series about France's greatest rock icon, as told by the iconic singer himself. All five episodes of JOHNNY HALLYDAY: BEYOND ROCK dropped on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 on Netflix:

"The Myth": Abandoned by his parents, a talented young man reinvents himself as a rock 'n' roller. But fame and a family with Sylvie Vartan bring new pressures.

"Live Fast, Die Young": Returning from the depths of despair, Johnny Hallyday embraces new sounds and delivers electrifying concerts. Still, the perpetual tours take a toll.

"Reborn": Ruined and divorced, Johnny searches for new inspiration in the '80s and finds it in actor Nathalie Baye -- and songwriter Michel Berger.

"My America": Riding a wave of success, Johnny embarks on a romance with his best friend's daughter and lives his American dream of playing Vegas -- fans in tow.

"Immortal": After Vegas, Johnny makes another big bet, with a new album and a series of spectacular performances at the Stade de France.
