Plot Synopsis

JEOPARDY! is a nightly, syndicated game show (check local listings) that tests contestants' knowledge, covering topics such as literature, history and pop culture. Each game consists of three rounds: Single Jeopardy!, Double Jeopardy! and Final Jeopardy! In each round, three competing contestants are given a clue in the form of an answer on a computerized gameboard. Players must give a response in the form of a question. The clues are sorted by varying degrees of difficulty and are matched by increasing dollar values.

Season 30 debuted on Monday, September 16, 2013.

On Monday, September 15, 2014, JEOPARDY! returned for its 31st season. Season highlights include the return of the Tournament of Champions (November 10-21) and the debut of Daytime JEOPARDY!, featuring encore presentations of episodes from the previous season, in many markets, including New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and others across the country.

Season 32 of JEOPARDY premiered on Monday, September 14, 2015 (check local listings for time and channel). In addition to the return of popular events like the Tournament of Champions, College Championship, and Teachers and Teen Tournaments, this season also features a "Europe Reimagined" sweepstakes (Monday, October 12 - Friday, October, 16, 2015) during which viewers can watch and win each day for their chance to explore the French Atlantic Coast, the North Sea, Oporto and the Basque Country, the Mediterranean Isles, or Scandinavia.

JEOPARDY! returned for its 37th season on Monday, September 14, 2020, as host Alex Trebek returns with a new look: a set designed to respect COVID-19 social distancing requirements. The stage has been upgraded and now allows for more space between the three contestant podiums; the podiums are also a safe distance from Alex at his lectern. Additionally, production has protocols in place in accordance with current government guidelines to protect contestants, staff, crew, and talent from the spread of COVID-19. Plus, 74-time champion and recently crowned JEOPARDY! G.O.A.T. Ken Jennings is joining the show as a Consulting Producer this season. In his new role, Ken will present his own special video categories, develop projects, assist with contestant outreach, and serve as a general ambassador for the show. Viewers can see the first of his video categories in the second episode of the season, airing Tuesday, September 15.

Season 39 of JEOPARDY! premiered on Monday, September 12, 2022, with Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings continuing to split duties as permanent hosts of the syndicated series. Jennings hosts episodes that air through December, and Bialik took over in January 2023.
