Plot Synopsis

Created and executive produced by Adam F. Goldberg, David Guarascio, and Patrick Osborne, IMAGINARY MARY is a half-hour, live action/CGI hybrid, comedy series that focuses on Alica, a fiercely independent career woman whose life is turned upside-down when she meets the love of her life -- a divorced father with three kids (Andy, Dora & Bunny) -- and soon falls head-over-heels for him. This relationship triggers even more upheaval when the slightly unhinged imaginary friend she created as a child suddenly reappears to help her navigate the transition from single girl to a woman ready for a family. When Ben asks Alice to help him with her first mom-like task to pick up Bunny from dance class, Mary quickly discovers the simplest parental tasks are fraught with difficulty. Afterwards, Ben is disappointed when Alice tells him she can't help with the kids anymore, but things change when Andy enlists Alice's help to overcome his fear of taking a driving test. On Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 8:30pm ET/PT, ABC premiered a sneak preview episode of IMAGINARY MARY, before the series settles into its regular timeslot -- Tuesdays at 9:30pm -- the following week on April 4.

On Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 9:30pm ET/PT, ABC premiered "Sleep Over," a special episode of IMAGINARY MARY two weeks after ABC had billed the "Last Dance With Mary" episode as the series finale. In this special episode, Alice decides it is time to finally have a sleepover when Andy, Dora and Bunny are at their dad's while Ben is hesitant, because he doesn't want to scare Alice off with the kid's nightly rituals and lack of sleep. But they decide to go through it, which leaves Alice more rattled than she expected. With Mary's help, Alice tries to fix the problem, but it backfires.
