Plot Synopsis

Each 30-minute episode shares one murder mystery from the perspective of the victim, using a fictionalized, first-person narration as investigators, family and friends search for clues to identify the killer. The all-knowing victim never reveals the killer's identity; instead, it's up to the viewers to piece together the clues and witness accounts. These unique voices include: a 19-year-old college student who is found beaten to death in the local swimming pool's pump room; a woman who fell victim to an apparent robbery gone wrong or possibly a sinister lover; a hometown bar owner who may have slipped into a web of a deadly gang rivalry; and a minister's wife who perished in a house fire, which may not have been accidental. After airing this program for three seasons with the title STOLEN VOICES, BURIED SECRETS, Investigation Discovery debuted the program's fourth season on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT with a new title, I WAS MURDERED. The Season 4 premiere featured a mother and daughter who were found murdered in their Florida home, just as the storm clouds of Hurricane Andrew gathered.
