Plot Synopsis

In the working-class neighborhood of El Dorado, young rapper Juan Gris and his tight-knit group of friends face the difficulties of growing up under encroaching gentrification. But when he meets Lola, the upper-class daughter of a prominent construction leader, the two begin a rebellious romance that threatens to upend their relationships and family ties. Determined to save their city, Juan Gris and Lola join forces to resist through the medium that unites them most: music. With help from their friends, the teens embark on a high-stakes, tumultuous journey of self-discovery that will change their lives forever. Six episodes of I LOVE YOU AND IT HURTS dropped on Thursday, August 24, 2023 on Max, with three more installments debuting on Thursday, August 31.
