Plot Synopsis

Sunny Anderson travels across the United States, meeting home-grown cooks with inspirational stories, revealing the stories behind their recipes and learning a few kitchen tips and tricks of her own. In each 30-minute episode, Sunny visits two people, including: Carmen Rodriguez, a lifelong baker whose homemade Latin and Italian flavored cupcakes have lead to her own bakery, Brooklyn Cupcake; Steve Linehan, whose homemade Buffalo Wing Sauce is the attraction for hundreds of people descending on his Bellingham, MA backyard for his monthly Wingfests parties; Dave Arancini, who perfected his recipe for this Italian fried rice ball in Sicily, and now is the owner of Brooklyn's Arancini Brothers; Lucille, from Somers, NY, whose recipe for Swordfish Balls has been passed down in her family for 100 years and is a Christmas tradition; Leah Wilcox, owner and chef of Babycakes Food truck in Chicago, who reveals her Rainbow Silver Dollar Pancakes that inspired the truck; Kathleen, from Bethany, CT, whose farm, which was passed down from her grandmother, is the destination for hundreds flocking to taste her veggie chili; David 'Dewey' Atkocaitis, whose famous firehouse Buffalo Chicken Lasagna took him to LIVE! WITH REGIS AND KELLY to compete on the show's Firehouse Cook-Off; Jeneen Terrana, a singer/baker in Queens, NY, whose four-layer cheesecake is so good that she sold it at her gigs around New York to raise money to cut her first album; Mary Molina, founder of the Crocton Falls, NY company Lola Granola, who made her own granola because her children were allergic to soy -- and the granola she made for her five-year-old daughter Lola became the most popular; Caryn Ross, owner of the Fat and Sassy Mama blog, won $25,000 in Paula Deen's 2010 Cooking Competition for her Sassy Tailgate Slider recipe and now serves Root Beer Pulled Pork Sandwich out of her Norman, OK food truck; Mike, from Marietta, OK, who has won more than 1,000 competitive cooking contests with his homemade BBQ Brisket; and her own grandmother, in Fayetteville, NC, who has never shared the recipe for Sunny's favorite pie, her Grandmother Williams' Squash Pie.
