Plot Synopsis

Since the program was established in 1987 by the White House to commemorate the creation of Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States, THE HISPANIC HERITAGE AWARDS -- considered among the highest honors for Latinos by Latinos -- have annually honored Latino leaders in education, sports, leadership, STEM, entertainment, service, and philanthropy.
On Friday, October 11, 2019 at 10pm (check local listings), PBS broadcast the 32nd annual HISPANIC HERITAGE AWARDS as a one-hour special, which was filmed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on October 1. The event, hosted by Nicholas Gonzalez, featured these honorees: Residente aka Rene Perez (Vision Award); Eugenio Derbez (Film); Alejandro Fernandez (Music); and 'Canelo' Alvarez (Sports). Presenters include: Ingrid Hoffmann, John Carter & Ana Cristina Cash, Pati Jinich, Elizardi Castro, Isabela Moner, Laura Gomez, JW Cortez, Richard 'Crazy Legs' Colon, and more
