Plot Synopsis

HAPPY TO BE HOME WITH THE BENKOS is a one-hour docuseries that follows designer Gray Benko, who brings color and happiness to historic homes in the low country of South Carolina. Her whimsical vision is brought to life with the help of her craftsman husband Mike and her contractor dad Joe (aka Grumpy). In the season opener, "Happy to Be Home for a 25th Wedding Anniversary," the Benkos get to work when a family wants to update its 1920 Craftsman home for its 25th anniversary. Gray brings whimsy, bold patterns and thoughtful touches; Mike handcrafts furniture; and Grumpy solves tricky issues common in historic homes.

Season 2 of HAPPY TO BE HOME WITH THE BENKOS debuted on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 1pm ET/PT on Magnolia Network. In the season opener, "Happy to Tiptoe into Color," Gray and Grumpy help a young family who is hoping their historic 1890s home will grow with them through the years; Gray helps them tiptoe into color while Grumpy makes the historical home more functional, adding much needed storage.
