Plot Synopsis

HAND OF GOD centers on Judge Pernell Harris -- a hard-living, law-bending, married man who has a protective wife, Crystal, but who also has a high-end call girl, Tessie, on the side as his confidante. In this series, Pernell suffers a mental breakdown, going on a vigilante quest to find the rapist who tore his family apart. But with no real evidence to go on, Pernell begins to rely on "visions" and "messages" he believes are being sent by God through his ventilator-bound son, PJ, who tried to kill himself after his wife, Jocelyn, was raped. Spurred on by a questionable pastor named Reverend Paul at Hand of God church, Pernell teams up with KD, a zealot and violent ex-con, and sets out on a vigilante mission, as his visions may even try to convince him to betray someone close to him to get answers about who hurt his daughter-in-law. Amazon released the pilot of HAND OF GOD on Thursday, August 28, 2014, and one year later released the entire 10-episode first season on Friday, September 4, 2015.

Amazon released the 10-episode second season of HAND OF GOD on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. Pernell has finally hit bottom as he faces trial for the murder of a cop. Pernell's visions and his dead son will slowly lead him through a conspiracy that is bigger than he could have imagined, but will threaten his relationship with his wife and everything he holds dear, forcing him to fight for both his sanity and his freedom. Season 2 opens with Pernell sending KD on an important mission to uncover the identity of a mystery witness against him. Crystal reconnects with family in Stockton. Jocelyn ventures out, Paul and Alicia make a decision about the baby, and Tessie contemplates retirement. As he works to woo Crystal, Pernell discovers he may not be the picture of mental health he'd hoped to present to her.
