Plot Synopsis

Created by David E. Kelley, GOLIATH is a one-hour legal drama series that follows down-and-out lawyer Billy McBride as he seeks redemption. His one shot depends on getting justice in a legal system where truth has become a commodity, and the scales of justice have never been more heavily weighed toward the rich and powerful. Once a powerful lawyer, Billy is now burned out and washed up, spending more time in a bar than a courtroom. When he reluctantly agrees to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit against the biggest client of Cooperman & McBride, the massive law firm he helped create, Billy and his ragtag team uncover a vast and deadly conspiracy, pitting them all in a life or death trial against the ultimate Goliath. Amazon Prime released the eight-episode first season of GOLIATH on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT.

The sophomore season of GOLIATH premiered on Friday, June 15, 2018, as Amazon Prime released the entire eight-episode new season at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. Billy McBride returns to criminal defense, taking on a grisly double murder case. His client is a 16-year-old boy, and Billy's damn sure he's innocent. Billy, Patty, and the team fervently build their case in the seedy underworld of Los Angeles. As the murders' true culprits come to light, the implications reach as far as the mayoral race -- and the city's preeminent billionaire developer.
Season 3 of GOLIATH premiered on Friday, October 4, 2019, as Amazon Prime released the entire eight-episode new season. This season, the unexpected death of an old friend leads Billy McBride to take a case in the drought-stricken Central Valley where he comes face-to-face with a new Goliath: a billionaire rancher and his sister. As Billy and his team pursue the truth, old enemies and personal demons resurface, forcing him to confront his own mortality. In addition to Billy Bob Thornton returning as Billy McBride, Season 3 of GOLIATH also stars Nina Arianda as Patty Solis-Papagian, Tania Raymonde as Brittany Gold, Diana Hopper as Denise McBride, Ana de la Reguera as Marisol Silva, and Julie Brister as Marva Jefferson. Acclaimed guest stars set to join the series this season include: Dennis Quaid, Amy Brenneman, Beau Bridges, Griffin Dunne, Sherilyn Fenn, Shamier Anderson, Julia Jones, Leslie Grossman, Graham Greene and Illeana Douglas.

The first four episodes include:

"The Subsidence Adventure": After a tragic accident takes the life of an old friend, Billy McBride tries to help the grieving spouse find some closure. Billy's investigation leads him to California's Central Valley, where he quickly learns that nothing is as it seems. Away from the safety of home, Billy must come to grips with his own mortality while coming face-to-face with a new Goliath: a cabal of billionaire corporate farmers led by Wade Blackwood, who controls all the water in the area.

"Happiness from the Ground Up": Billy meets Wade Blackwood's sister, Diana, as she prepares for the high-profile launch of her new almond-based lifestyle brand. Struggling to develop a wrongful death claim, Billy asks Patty for help. However, as she arrives in the Central Valley, Patty discovers a much larger problem: an entire county that has to live without water. When Billy attends a black-tie party at the Blackwoods' mansion, he encounters an old enemy and new complications.

"Good Morning, Central Valley": Billy and Patty try to convince county residents to join their class action against the water board. However, Wade Blackwood counters by bringing on a defense attorney with a personal vendetta against Billy. JT digs up information on the shady backroom deal that gave the corporate farmers control of the county's water, only to endanger a key witness. Meanwhile, Roy Wheeler confronts Diana Blackwood, trying to put an end to her scheme himself.

"Full Circle": If Billy can't shake the feeling he's been to Blackwood County before, it's because he has. Flashing back to the months before Season 3 began, Billy has another drunk, lost weekend with Applebees, but this time at the Rising Sun Hotel and Casino. Along the way, they cross paths with the Blackwoods, if only Billy can remember what he discovered later. Meanwhile, Brittany starts making plans for her future and has to ask Billy for a big favor.
