Plot Synopsis

GENERAL HOSPITAL follows the passion, intrigue and adventure that takes place in the fictional town of Port Charles in upstate New York. On Monday, April 1, 2013 at 2pm ET/3pm PT, GENERAL HOSPITAL celebrated its Golden Anniversary as the longest running American soap opera currently in production and the longest running scripted drama on television currently in production. As part of its 50th Anniversary celebration, SOAPnet aired a 50-hour marathon of classic episodes, starting Friday, March 29th at 10pm ET/PT and running through midnight Sunday, March 31st. Plus, on its 50th Anniversary, GH reprised the immensely popular Nurses Ball, a fictional charity event complete with musical performances from the illustrious citizens of Port Charles dedicated to HIV/AIDS awareness. This event marks the first time the Nurses Ball was linked to a non-fictional charity, amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research.

On Friday, February 13, 2015 at 2pm ET/3pm PT, ABC premiered a special Valentine's Day episode of GENERAL HOSPITAL, featuring guest appearances by: Melissa Peterman, who plays an old friend of Olivia Falconeri from Bensonhurst; Cristela Alonzo, who plays ADA Natalia Rodriguez, asking some questions for Det. Nathan West regarding a recent break-in; and Derek Theler, who plays a colleague of Dr. Patrick Drake.
