Plot Synopsis

Guided by Marlon Wayans and a rotating crew of guests, a group of comics compete in weekly comedy challenges, as they try to avoid elimination while vying for the grand prize: $100,00 cash and the chance to star in an online series for Wayans' WhatTheFunny.com. FUNNIEST WINS opens with 10 competitors of various types, who range in age from 25 to 40. Each week, the comics must learn the ins and outs of a particular comedy style, and then put that knowledge to the test in that week's main competition. At the end of each round, one comic is sent packing. At the conclusion of the season, the last remaining comic takes home $100,000 and a starring role in a web series. The competitors are: Billy Sorrells (age 31; residence: Los Angeles, CA), whose video Sh*t Black Girls Say started an online craze and spawned thousands of video memes; Christina Pazsitzky (37; Redondo Beach, CA), who started her career as a sketch performer with the Groundlings and hosts a podcast with her stand-up husband, Tom Segura; Jason Nash (40; Los Angeles, CA), who started as Norm MacDonald's assistant at SNL and now specializes in dark comedy inspired by his life; Jenny Zigrino (27; New York, NY), who used to work at a Renaissance Faire and was a Paul Revere tour guide in Boston; Key Lewis (40; Los Angeles, CA), whose day job is as an equipment superintendent supporting electricity for public transportation; Manon Matthews (25; Studio City, CA), who studied her craft at the UC-Berkley, Second City and the Groundlings; Matt McManus (33; West Hollywood, CA), who sticks to his morals and turns down work that promotes mean-spirited humor; Ryan 'Rydoon' Muldoon (29; Boston, MA), who works as a dog walker while trying to transition to comedy full time; Sydney Castillo (32; Los Angeles, CA), who moved from Fort Worth to Los Angeles to pursue modeling, which quickly turned to comedy; and Tiffany Haddish (34; Culver City, CA), who grew up in foster care and took up comedy when her social worker enrolled her in comedy camp instead of therapy.
