Plot Synopsis

FAMILY BUSINESS is a legal drama series that takes a contemporary look at family conflicts -- family strife, this female-led drama takes a fascinating approach at modern social issues from custody battles to involuntary commitment to trans rights -- and the people who mediate them. At the Lartigues & Lorenzi law firm, mother-daughter duo Astrid and Audrey Lartigues work together with associate Sofia Lorenzi to solve Lyon's toughest familial issues, including their own. From divorcing owners battling over a bulldog to issues over mortality and inheritance to a couple bickering over their prenuptial contract, every case presents a new challenge. Challenges aren't just for the courtroom, however. The lawyers' personal lives are also front and center in this series, often mirrored by the cases they present. Audrey is unsettled upon learning that she is pregnant with her third child -- she's committed to her partner Paul, but with her career in full swing, she questions the direction of their future. FAMILY BUSINESS had its U.S. premiere on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Acorn TV released the entire eight-episode first season.

Season 2 of FAMILY BUSINESS made its U.S. debut on Monday, October 25, 2021, as Acorn TV released the entire eight-episode new season. In the season opener, "Tom," when 15-year-old Tom and his younger sister are brought to the police after spending a night on the street, they ask to sue their parents for neglect. Twenty-first century divorce, or a case of irresponsible parents? Either way things are not so simple for a very pregnant Audrey Lartigues, who-between a jealous husband and a persistent prosecutor-is facing a big decision.
