Plot Synopsis

Each week during the summer, a celebrity host introduces feature films for ESSENTIALS JR., which showcases movies that are ideal for parents to share with their kids as a way of introducing them to classic films.
With Bill Hader returning for his fourth outing as host, TCM broadcast the season premiere of ESSENTIALS JR. on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 8pm ET/5pm PT, opening the new season with BRINGING UP BABY (1938), the ultimate screwball comedy starring Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. The 2014 edition of ESSENTIALS JR. aired on Sunday evenings throughout the summer, highlighted by these feature films and shorts:
