Plot Synopsis

Loosely inspired by real-life events and adapted from the web series of the same name, DREAMING WHILST BLACK is a half-hour dramedy series that follows Kwabena, an aspiring filmmaker stuck in a dead-end recruitment job who takes the first step to achieving his dream. However, he is quickly confronted with the tribulations of balancing finances, love and his own sense of reality. DREAMING WHILST BLACK made its U.S. debut on Friday, September 8, 2023 on Paramount+ with Showtime. Two days later -- on Sunday, September 10, 2023 -- the series made its U.S. linear television debut with back-to-back episodes from 10-11pm ET/PT on Showtime.

On Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 10-11pm ET/PT, Showtime premiered the the final two episodes of DREAMING WHILST BLACK:

"The Pitch" (10pm): Kwabena struggles to impress the jurors in his development scheme.

"The Premiere" (10:30pm): Kwabena and Amy have finally made their film, and Kwabena is now focused on getting agents to come to the screening with the hope of being signed.
