Plot Synopsis

DR. JEFF: ROCKY MOUNTAIN VET is a one-hour reality series that follows Denver-based veterinarian Dr. Jeff Young, as he and 30-plus staff at Planned Pethood Plus veterinary clinic treat and save the lives of countless pets in the Mile High City and beyond. For 80,000-plus clients and their pets, the clinic represents one last hope -- and possibly the difference between life and death -- as Dr. Jeff and his team of veterinary experts complete approximately 30 surgeries a day while they attend to a diverse clientele and their pets while even taking their services on the road to those who cannot access his clinic. Plus, Dr. Jeff is committed to providing low-cost animal care to all and has put animal welfare first and foremost. A passionate advocate for spaying and neutering pets, Dr. Jeff he has performed more than 165,000 of these population-controlling procedures that improve long-term animal health. In this series, cameras reveal the often tense and chaotic atmosphere at the clinic with its continuous flow of urgent emergencies on top of scheduled appointments, including cases like: a dog that goes into cardiac arrest shortly after arriving at his clinic, but whose owners can't afford to pay the vet bill; rookie Dr. Amy performing a complex procedure on a dog that was kicked in the head by a horse; a small dog that's swallowed something big and potentially fatal; a litter of 10 puppies that gets diagnosed with canine distemper, a highly contagious and deadly virus, which puts the clinic in lockdown; a cat's bellyache that leaves the veterinarians and the cat's owner scratching their heads; and more animals who need help, such as a balding parrot, a litter of piglets, a special herd of cows, and many more critters. Season 2 of DR. JEFF: MOUNTAIN VET premiered on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT no Animal Planet. The cases in the 12-episode second season are more intense than ever when Dr. Jeff Young and his team go to great lengths to save the lives of both beloved pets and rescued wild animals. This season, they treat more mysterious illnesses, perform surgeries on creatures including little foxes and big cats and rehabilitate rescued animals before they find forever homes. There is no animal this team won't try to save, even if it means leaving the modern-day conveniences of the clinic and traveling high into the Rocky Mountains to get to them. In the season opener, "Nine Lives," Dr. Jeff battles to save the shattered leg of a beloved dog hit by a car. Then Dr. Amy takes on a new challenge treating seven bad-tempered chickens. And a tiny kitten found unconscious at a construction site unites everyone in a fight to save it. Season 3 of DR.
