Plot Synopsis

DEADWIND is a one-hour Finnish crime drama series that follows detective Sofia Karppi, who returns to work following a family tragedy to investigate the murder of Anna Bergdahl, a woman with ties to a Helsinki construction company. It's a baffling murder with no shortage of suspects. The series opens with Anna's body being found buried at a construction site, and detective Sofia Karppi and her new partner, Sakari Nurmi, homing in on the victim's disgruntled ex-client. After seeing surveillance footage showing Anna leaving the Tempo party, Karppi and Nurmi head to the home of entrepreneur and real estate investor Stig Olande. Then, Karppi and Nurmi look into the Lexus's connection to Anna. Alex Hoikkala receives a startling ultimatum. Usko takes offense to a police theory. DEADWIND had its U.S. premiere on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the 12-episode first season.

The eight-episode second season of DEADWIND had its U.S. premiere on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire new season. Corruption and murder collide as Helsinki detectives Sofia Karppi and Sakari Nurmi scour the city for the rumored connection. Season 2 opens with Karppi and Nurmi investigating two murders and their possible connection to an enormous construction project. As Karppi grieves a painful loss, she and Nurmi search for the meaning behind a cryptic clue written in blood.
Season 3 of DEADWIND made its U.S. debut on Saturday, October 29, 2022 on Netflix, as the streaming service released all eight episodes of the new season. After Karppi and Nurmi reconcile, the pair dives into a case involving a mysterious symbol, pharmaceutical promises and a deeply disturbed murderer. In the season opener, "The Cage," a woman is found in a cage brutally murdered, and Karppi and Nurmi focus on learning everything they can about the victim -- and her troubled son. Then, in "Back Room," Ossi makes a move fueled by desperation. Karppi receives an intriguing call about her late husband. Nurmi has a brief -- but painful -- reunion.
