Plot Synopsis

Each week, three small businesses compete against each other, while enduring questions from a panel of experts and trying to convince an audience of 100 to award them $50,000. The panel of three experts includes two permanent panelists, NY1 Anchor Pat Kiernan and jewelry designer Kendra Scott, and a different industry expert each week. Kiernan is a veteran broadcaster who has been NY1's morning anchor since 1997 and who runs his own small production company. Scott has developed a global multi-million dollar label with collections sold at topmost retailers, after starting with $500 and a small jewelry collection in 2002. The industry experts include: Elizabeth Chambers, co-owner of the Bird Bakery in San Antonio, TX; Michael Chernow, co-owner and general manager of The Meatball Shop; Melinda Emerson, founder and chief executive of Quintessence Multimedia; Steve Kaplan, serial entrepreneur and self-made multimillionaire; Erica Minnihan, Executive Director of STAR Angel Network; Vincent Porpiglia, founder and COO of Dream Water; Tom Szaky, founder and chief executive of TerraCycle; and Larry Winget, internationally-renowned motivational speaker and consultant.
