Plot Synopsis

CRIMINAL PLANET is an eight-episode series that reveals the latest trends in global crime and the increasingly complex, high-tech, and wide-reaching challenges faced by law enforcement. The series explains underlying causes of global crime -- hearing from victims -- and profiles those on the cutting edge of enforcement who are seeking to break criminal cycles. In the series opener, "The Albanian Mafia's International Cocaine Empire," a South American tsunami of cocaine has flooded Europe and at the center of it is the fearsome Albanian mafia and its deadly alliance with Colombia's biggest cocaine clan.
