Plot Synopsis

Based on Ratih Kumala's book of the same name, CIGARETTE GIRL is a five-episode drama series that follows a gifted artisan's journey of love and self-discovery, as she defies tradition within Indonesia's clove cigarette industry in the 1960s. The story opens with Lebas beginning his search for for an unfamiliar woman after hearing his ailing father, Soeraja, mentions her name: Dasiyah. Racing against the time, Lebas must find the woman and fulfill his father's last wish. Accompanied by Arum, Lebas discovers a story full of intrigue in his family's cigarette industry. All five episodes of CIGARETTE GIRL dropped on Thursday, November 2, 2023 on Netflix.
