Plot Synopsis

BUILDING OUTSIDE THE LINES is a one-hour reality series that follows Jared 'Cappie' Capp and his teenage step-daughter Alex Headley, as they transform ordinary, pre-existing structures into one-of-a-kind fantasy retreats. The series debuted with back-to-back new episodes on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 8-10pm ET on Magnolia Network. In the series opener (8pm), "Sauna Surprise" an unexpected ask from an old friend prompts father-daughter builders Cappie and Alex to turn a shipping container into a luxurious sauna. Meanwhile, a cherished teacher's wish results in a custom-built fire pit space. Then, in the second episode (9pm), "Retirement Dreams and Kind Things," Cappie and Alex elevate the idea of a man cave by designing and building a bespoke space, buried into the hillside of their client's South Dakota property. And an inspirational message from two kind neighbors leads to an inviting front yard oasis.
