Plot Synopsis

BREAKING AMISH is a reality series that follows the lives of one Mennonite woman and four Amish men and women, as they experience life outside of their communities for the first time. The stakes are incredibly high because each of them faces being shunned with possible rejection, criticism and even exile from their family's homes and their community. However, all of them feel they will never be at peace in their community unless they know what lies beyond their religious dress, head coverings, horse & buggies and the simple life. These young adults include: Kate, a 21-year-old who is well-known in the Amish community as the daughter of a bishop; Sabrina, a 25-year-old Mennonite, who was adopted and raised by a very judgmental family; and three other Amish men and women looking to experience things we take for granted.
