BOOKMARKS: CELEBRATING BLACK VOICES is a live-action collection of twelve five minute episodes featuring prominent Black celebrities and artists reading children's books from Black authors that highlight the Black experience. Hosted by Marley Dias (author and founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks campaign), the collection of books and conversations center around themes of identity, respect, justice, and action -- providing families a toolset to start meaningful conversations with kids about difficult topics through short-form book-based content. Netflix released all 12 episodes on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT:

"Karamo Brown Reads I Am Perfectly Designed": A father and son share memories, talk about their feelings and find strength in being exactly who they are.

"Jill Scott Reads Pretty Brown Face and Brown Boy Joy": Big dreams, beautiful faces. Two picture books put Black boys in the spotlight, celebrating the little things that bring us all joy.

"Misty Copeland Reads Firebird": A young dancer aspires to be just like her idol, the famed "Firebird" ballerina who worked hard to achieve her own dreams.
