Plot Synopsis

This one-hour drama follows Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan, a highly skilled forensic anthropologist, who works with a FBI agent on murder investigations when the standard methods of identifying a body are futile. Her special expertise lies in her ability to read clues left behind in the victim's bones. Based on real-life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs. Season 8 opens with Brennan on the run and hiding from the FBI -- with the help of her father -- after she is accused of murder, but she covertly returns to the Jeffersonian to help prove her innocence. Booth and the team think that evil tech-genius Pelant manipulated evidence evidence to implicate Brennan, and they work together to prove their hypothesis. Season 8 ended on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 8pm ET/PT, with "The Secret in the Siege" featuring evil tech genius Pelant, who returned to toy with the Jeffersonian team in their newest investigation. The team discovered that the string of murders that had been occurring were tied to FBI agents close to Booth, and, as the investigation unfolded, Sweets realized that the evidence seems all too familiar to him. Plus, Brennan started evaluating her relationship with Booth when signs begin to point to him as one of Pelant's potential targets.

BONES returned for its tenth season on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT on FOX. At the conclusion of Season 9, the team took down the Ghost Killer serial killer, only to find that she was just a small cog in a much larger conspiracy involving high-ranking government officials and people within the FBI. Committed to uncovering the truth, Brennan and Booth ignored the potential danger of confronting a governmental monolith and soon found their professional and personal lives in turmoil, after Booth was arrested for the murder of three FBI agents. In the Season 10 premiere, "The Conspiracy in the Corpse," Brennan and the Jeffersonian team are desperately working to get Booth out of jail, clear his name and absolve him of crimes he did not commit. The remains of a man who has been dead 16 years could be the point of origin in the entire government conspiracy that ultimately put Booth in jail. Meanwhile, Booth is faced with a challenge from James Aubrey, a new and politically ambitious FBI agent. As he awaits trial, Booth also realizes that many of the convicts with whom he is locked up are criminals he put in there, and Daisy and Sweets have a surprise for the rest of the Jeffersonian team.

Season 11 of BONES premiered on Thursday October 1, 2015 at 8pm ET/PT on FOX. The new season picks up six months after the Season 10 finale, as Brennan and Booth have moved on to a new town and new jobs, having given up their old life and settled into a blissful death-free existence. But a murder unlike any other draws them back to investigate with their former colleagues at the Jeffersonian and FBI. The season opener, "The Loyalty in the Lie," features a case with close personal ties to the couple, which compels Brennan to become involved in the forensic analysis of the remains, and Booth mysteriously goes missing, prompting an FBI investigation into his whereabouts led by Agent Grace Miller (guest star Kim Raver), who works closely with FBI Agent James Aubrey on the case. However, tensions rise when Miller tries to investigate one of the team's own as the primary suspect. The case also brings Brennan into contact with a member of Booth's family (guest star Dilshad Vadsaria), and "squintern" Arastoo Vaziri, who has been filling in as lead forensic anthropologist during Brennan's absence, hopes the temporary position becomes permanent. Four months earlier, FOX announced that showrunner Stephen Nathan is stepping away from the series to work on other projects at FOX, and BONES executive producer Jonathan Collier and co-executive producer Michael Peterson would be taking the reins as showrunners for Season 11. FOX added that Nathan hopes to return to the series later in the season.

On Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT, the final chapter of BONES premiered on FOX. The 12-episode run celebrates the inventive series and brings the storylines of Brennan, Booth and the Jeffersonian-FBI team to a close, allowing the show's loyal fans to say goodbye to these indelible characters. Throughout the final chapter, fans will see the return of fan-favorite guest stars and squinterns, as well as an old flame from one of the team's past. Fans also will experience a wedding, follow an epic serial killer storyline, go undercover in a lumberjack competition and see Booth and Brennan's marriage get put to the test. As always, new guest stars will be introduced, as well as a final round of gory murders, from which brand-new investigations will arise.

7pm ET/PT: "The Carpals in the Coy-Wolves" -- A real estate agent's remains are discovered in a forest and show signs of being partially devoured by coyote-wolf hybrids, so Brennan solicits help from an older forensic anthropologist, who amazes the staff with her decades of experience.
