Plot Synopsis

While most people think of Whitey Bulger when it comes to Boston organized crime he was by no means the only bad actor in town. BLOODY BOSTON is a two-part, four-hour documentary that explores the dark underbelly Boston to reveal the city's crime battlefield starting in the 1950s with a heist so big and bold it would be known as the Crime of the Century, the violent Irish Gang War of the 1960s, the rise of Bulger in the 1970s, the transatlantic gun running operation and armored car heists of the 1980s and the reckoning in the 1990s when indictments finally started coming down. With unprecedented access to former Winter Hill Gang members and associates they share first-hand accounts of the chaos from outlandish criminal schemes, hit attempts on their lives, the rules of the streets, the peace deals between gangs and what they really think about infamous Boston bad guy Whitey Bulger. And for the first time ever hear from the man who ran Winter Hill Gang as Howie Winter goes on record discussing his direct involvement with one of America's bloodiest gang wars.
