Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Ashley Graham, BARBIE DREAMHOUSE CHALLENGE is a four-episode competition series that feature eight teams of HGTV superstars and one celebrated Food Network chef as they transform a Southern California home into a real-life Barbie Dreamhouse. And, one passionate Barbie fan will win a once-in-a-lifetime sleepover staycation in the completed home! During the competition, acclaimed designer and Barbie collaborator Jonathan Adler serves as head judge alongside HGTV designer and Barbie Dreamhouse expert Tiffany Brooks, who are joined by a weekly celebrity guest judge. Each episode features nostalgic Barbie content as each team implements daring designs synonymous with the iconic Dreamhouse throughout the home, including a light-up dance floor and an aquarium that doubles as a desk, as well as toyetic elements like a hat carousel in Barbie's closet and a combination pet elevator/phone booth in the living room. In the end, the winning design team has a donation made in their name to Save the Children. Episodes include:

"Barbie's First Floor Face-Off" (Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 8-9:30pm): All sixteen renovators gather to kick off the competition, as Ashley and the competitors will take an inspiring trip to Mattel headquarters and get a mind-blowing Barbie surprise. The first two teams go head-to-head, with Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson taking on Jasmine Roth and Antonia Lofaso in a first-floor challenge. Egypt and Mike take inspiration from the neon 1990s Barbie style to reimagine the entryway, living room and dining room into an over-the-top pink paradise. Jasmine and Antonia create an awe-inspiring kitchen and family room from the 1960s, with space-age touches featuring appliances that appear with the touch of a button and sleek mid-century accents. Judges Jonathan Adler and Tiffany Brooks are joined by guest judge Maureen McCormick. Plus, Kitty Black Perkins, who's credited with designing the first Black Barbie, makes a surprise appearance.

"The Suite Life of Barbie and Ken" (Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 8-9pm): Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin must create Barbie's iconic bedroom suite, as they battle Alison Victoria and Ty Pennington, who are building a first-ever den for Ken. Special guests Allison Holker Boss and ET's Nischelle Turner join the fun.

"Dream in the Front, Party in the Back" (Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 8-9pm): Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas transform the front exterior, adding a gigantic handle on the roof, to compete with Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt's backyard pink party pad. Actress Marsai Martin joins the judges to choose one team to move on to the finale.

"Barbie's Big Pink Carpet Finale" (Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 8-9:30pm; season finale): Christina Hall and James Bender take on Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle. Then the four finalist spaces compete at a "Pink Carpet" event. One space is voted the winner, and a fan wins a stay in the DreamHouse. Appearance by BARBIE star, Margot Robbie!

"Out of the Box" (Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 8-9pm; special): Find out what it took to build the first-ever real-life Barbie DreamHouse with unseen footage of each challenge, new interviews, outtakes, trivia and takeaway. Plus exclusive coverage of the winning fan's unforgettable stay in the finished Dreamhouse.
