Plot Synopsis

In rural western Kentucky, three women have taken on the responsibility to care for wild animals that are injured, orphaned, or in need, with the ultimate goal of returning them back to the wild. BANDIT PATROL is a one-hour reality series that follows these women, as they rehab animals at the nonprofit Misfit Island, founded by Linda Williams and Max Soaper since 2011, with the help of local veterinarians, like Dr. Jared Tapp, who donate their time to provide free veterinary care for the animals. Besides and Max, this series features two other rehabbers: Nancy Reynolds, who made her first foray into rehabilitation after realizing that there was a need to assist animals that had been injured or left to die; and Kristin Allen, who also works with the Western Kentucky Raptors Center. Season 2 of BANDIT PATROL premiered on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on Nat Geo Wild, immediately following a six-hour marathon (4-10pm) of encore episodes. In the season opener, "Mission Impossumable," Kristin has a special permit for rehabilitation raptors like a Great Horned Owl, which she affectionately named Ingrid. Plus, bats that find themselves in Brigette's care are often weakened and malnourished, so she takes special care when feeding them. Since bats initially reject whole mealworms, Brigette Williams carefully feeds this bat a mealworm mush from a syringe. Also, Nancy has 12 hungry possum mouths to feed. Since they were all born in captivity, they need to learn to find grub on their own. Nancy continues to watch for foraging behaviors and finding food on their own, a sign that they're ready to be released.
Nat Geo Wild premiered the third season of BANDIT PATROL on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT. In the season opener, "Bat in the Crack," Kristin and Grant rehab a wild bobcat, Brigette works to save a blind opossum, and Nikki must figure out why a bat is hiding out in a sidewalk crack.
