Plot Synopsis

THE ALECTRIX is a reality series that follows Heather Naylor, as she continues her lifelong dream of breaking into the music industry with her all-girl pop group, The Alectrix. Naylor's story was first documented in MTV's THE ELECTRIC BARBELLAS, and now, 25 months later, she and the rest of the girls have realized they are at a standstill and desperately need a change if they are ever going to get to the next level. With no other option in sight, Heather decides to bring in music-mogul Joe Simpson to take over all management duties, and he immediately reboots the group by making the original members re-audition against a group of his own handpicked singers. Throughout the season, friendships are tested and rivalries emerge as the girls fight to prove their abilities to Joe and earn their spot in the group. Joe Simpson was once a practicing Baptist minister and psychologist in his native Texas, but now he makes a living as a talent manager and producer in Los Angeles after entering the business as manager for his daughters, Jessica and Ashlee. The original members of the group are: Heather Naylor, the group's founder, who has worn many hats in the past, but is ready to let her musical talents shine and focus on being a member of the group; Chelsea Costa, the typical all America girl-next-door, who has been working hard to better herself as an artist, taking voice lessons and hitting the dance floor; Gynger Fluellen, who enjoys being part of a group, but thinks she has the personality and spark to make it as a solo artist; Missy Marie Foulk, Heather's best friend and band mate, who is nervous about balancing her new life with the incredible demands put on her as a member of The Alectrix; and Raven Elise, who, when she's not singing and dancing with the group, is pursuing other options and keeping a successful modeling career going. They're joined by: Andi Roxx, a singer and a rapper from Oakland, who has unique skills that make her a killer component of The Alectrix; Ayana Layli, who has been singing and recording since the age of seven with the full support of her musical family; Stephenie Pearson, a back-up singer and wardrobe stylist to Ashlee Simpson and other stars, who is a dedicated singer-songwriter and ultimately wants to perform her own music; Tiffany Dunn, who got her start singing in church with her Dad and choreographing dance routines for the neighborhood kids; and Ilv Xin, who came to the U.S. in 2009 and wants her talent to uplift and touch people in a positive way.
