Plot Synopsis

Narrated by Blair Underwood (Season 2) and Rob Lowe (Season 1), AGAINST THE ODDS tells the true stories of modern day heroes whose courage and sacrifice made their deeds unforgettable. Propelling themselves to a near impossible comeback against all odds, these heroes met their moment of destiny and changed history forever. Using archival war footage and first-hand interviews, each one-hour episode highlights a different battle, including: the Battle of Hue City, the site of one of the Vietnam War's fiercest battles; WWII's battles of Okinawa, the Bulge, and Tarawa; the Battle of Chosin Reservoir from the Korean War; and the Battle of Ramadi from the Iraq War.

Season 2 of AGAINST THE ODDS premiered on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on AHC: American Heroes Channel, immediately following a brand-new one-hour special. The 60-minute special (9pm), "Live to Tell," chronicles the story of December 1944, when the seemingly defeated Germans secretly mustered 600,000 battle-hardened troops, including whole SS Panzer Divisions, into an all out offensive to capture Antwerp, the heart of the Allied supply chain. Then, in the season opener (10pm), "Fighting Fox: Road to Hell," the paratroopers of Fighting Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment fought and died from Normandy to Hitler's Eagle's Nest. Their sheer determination against the enemy was matched only by their devotion to one another. Subsequent episodes feature these stories: "The Death Ridges of Peleliu," which documents the First Marine Division forging a ferocious struggle with the Japanese at Peleliu; "The Magnificent Bastards of Dai Do," which highlights the noble warriors of Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines face down an overwhelming North Vietnamese Army in Dai Do and rescue their fellow Marines; and much more.
