Plot Synopsis

Far above a small rural town, a strange storm has begun to form with forks of lightning and red twisters unlike any the world has seen before. Drawn to metal, these twisters pulverize everything they touch, sublimating matter into pure gas. When the cyclones destroy the school and send the town into chaos, the students are forced to rely on their own resources to survive. The key to stopping the storm falls on high-school student Will Newmar, a science prodigy, and his science fair project. It soon becomes clear that this strange storm is somehow related to Jupiter's great red spot, as a massive red super-storm gathers in the upper atmosphere and mega cyclones weave their way down to all parts of the globe, decimating the planet. In a race against time and the growing disaster, Will -- with the help of his father, an eccentric professor, and a small band of high school delinquents -- must re-engineer his project in an attempt to reverse the tide and prevent Earth from being transformed into giant gas nebula.
