Plot Synopsis
In 1945, Negro League baseball greats-- rookie Jackie Robinson, power hitter Josh Gibson and ace pitcher, Satchel Paige-- compete for the chance to be the first African Americans to cross baseball's color line. Although friends, and at times teammates. the men battle both personal and professional problems before Brooklyn Dodgers owner Branch Rickey makes his landmark decision to choose Jackie Robinson to integrate the major leagues.
