Plot Synopsis

In a small suburban community Gwen Griffith, a hard-working single mother, struggles to make ends meet while taking online classes to get her insurance license. Her overbearing mother constantly attempts to fix her up with the sons of her friends, but between work, studying and raising her precocious seven-year-old son Alex, she doesn't have time for dating. By chance she meets Ed Baker, a handsome and charming man, who makes her think perhaps there is room for love. But her hopes for Mr. Right soon crumble when she discovers that he's married with children and is also the preacher of a popular church. When Ed's heiress wife, Kelly, is murdered, Gwen finds herself in the middle of a police investigation that forces her to face skeletons from her past. She turns to Sidney, her best friend and co-worker, for support, but soon realizes she has been putting her trust in the wrong people. As she fights for her freedom and custody of her son, Gwen discovers who her real friends are -- and her real enemies.
