Plot Synopsis
Based on the book by Bernard Lefkowitz. A group of high-school jocks sexually assault a mildly retarded 17-year-old girl in an affluent N.J. town. A determined detective faces a conspiracy of silence from the community, the school board and the police who are intent on protecting the athletes. The lonely girl is''promised friendship'' if she will lie to protect the boys but during the trial, with help from a caring prosecutor, she bravely recalls their heinous behavior.
